GENERAL OVERVIEW

GeoSite Tag is an IoT device developed and engineered by Filippetti Group that, in combination with GeoSite Gateway device, allows you to virtually map and delimit a construction site area, geo-referencing its position in real time.

The device, powered by long-life rechargeable batteries, is placed on a relevant point (or points) of the site (ends or vertices) and collects the measurements and positions detected, processes them and sends them to the Gateway device which in turn will forward them to the monitoring platform (IoT Smart Platform or third-party platforms).

The GeoSite Tag is used for monitoring and is always supplied in combination with a GeoSite Gateway device or, alternatively, a compatible wireless communication infrastructure (LPWAN or WiFi).

It houses some environmental sensors (temperature, pressure, accelerometer, inclinometer) and a precision GPS positioning system that allow, through preset logics, to assess the actual displacement and in general the status (shocks, malfunctions, etc..).

 

MAIN ADVANTAGES

  • Lightweight and easy to install: its small dimensions (69 x 94 x 44 mm) make it extremely flexible and installable in any context, both outdoor and indoor.
  • Suitable for any scenario: the ABS case with IP68 protection degree and the resistance to an extremely wide range of temperatures (-25°C ÷ +60°C), make the device usable in extremely severe scenarios from the point of view of atmospheric conditions and exposure to dust.
  • Simplicity of configuration: the device can be configured remotely through a special web interface or on-site, through a dedicated App and Bluetooth connection.

OPERATING PRINCIPLES

COMMUNICATION: SMART NETWORK PROTOCOL

In this case, the device communicates with the SmartNetwork infrastructure mainly using Low Power Area Network technology on 868 MHz frequency in LoRa modulation. It can implement standard LoRaWAN protocol or proprietary SmartNetwork LoRa protocol

POWER SUPPLY: RECHARGEABLE BATTERY OPERATED

The device is equipped with rechargeable lithium batteries. Optional battery packs can be supplied on request. The device can also be powered by solar panels through a USB connection.

OUTDOOR LOCALIZATION: GPS

The device is equipped with a GPS module for localization in areas where there is no satellite coverage. GPS localization allows a localization with CEP (Circular error probable) of 5 m.

INDOOR LOCALIZATION: UWB

This can be achieved through the UWB module and in the presence of the SmartNetwork infrastructure with a CEP (Circular Error Probable) accuracy of about 50 cm.
