GENERAL OVERVIEW
The Filippetti Group’s outdoor LAN-GPRS is the basic device for the formation of the Smart Network, which allows you to enable IoT scenarios in multiple application environments and operational contexts. The fibreglass case and the high degree of protection against dust and humidity, make the technology particularly suitable for operating in outdoor environments, where the network infrastructure is constantly subjected to harsh weather conditions.
The Gateway includes the Server component for sending data from the field to the IoT Smart Platform.

ACCESSORIES
The gateway is already equipped with a power cord and is ready for attachment. In order to function correctly, 2 kits must be added to the Gateway:

- GAX2_30/3: Kit outdoor LoRa (antenna: 30 cm, cable: 3 m)
- GAX2_30/6: Kit outdoor LoRa (antenna: 30 cm, cable: 6m)
- GAX2_30/10: Kit outdoor LoRa (antenna: 30 cm, cable: 10m)
- GAX2_100/1.5: Kit outdoor LoRa (antenna: 100 cm, cable: 1.5 m)
- GAX2_100/3: Kit outdoor LoRa (antenna: 100 cm, cable: 3 m)
- GAX2_100/6: Kit outdoor LoRa (antenna: 100 cm, cable: 6m)
- GAX2_100/10: Kit outdoor LoRa (antenna: 100 cm, cable: 10m)
Each kit consists of an antenna, a cable for connection with the Gateway and suitable components for attaching the antenna.
OPERATING PRINCIPLES
COORDINATOR: SMART NETWORK PROTOCOL
The IoT gateway hosts at least two pre-configured USB dongles (up to a maximum of 3). The first performs the function of coordinator for the connection to the Smart Network infrastructure, through a proprietary communication protocol. The second (reconfigurable) acts as a sniffer for the analysis and debugging of radio traffic. The coordinator is responsible for managing the bi-directional flow of information with the devices in the field.
GATEWAY COMMUNICATION – IoT SMART PLATFORM: LAN, 2G/3G/4G
The gateway transmits the information acquired through the coordinator to the IoT Smart Platform – through LAN connectivity or GPRS integrated modem, 2G, 3G, 4G mobile connectivity – for subsequent data analysis, logging and remote monitoring. After customisation, data can also be transmitted from the gateway to third-party Data Centres.
POWER SUPPLY: by MAINS CURRENT
The system requires a 220 V power supply.
Additional information:
The device hosts on-board a CPU with a 64-bit, 1.4GHz quad-core processor. The outdoor gateway integrates a real-time clock (RTC) and a GPS module, for remote device tracking.
NECESSARY COMPONENTS
The Outdoor Gateway is equipped with a LoRa dongle. It is also possible to integrate the device with an additional LoRa dongle, up to a maximum of 2.
